Our name, fourteen|effects, is inspired by Leonardo Da Vinci. In his Codex Atlanticus Da Vinci wrote extensively about what he called the "Four Powers" of nature: movement, weight, force, and percussion.
To illustrate his conclusions, Da Vinci included drawings and descriptions of "the fourteen different effects of percussion." Adopting the name fourteen|effects alludes to our start as a percussion trio. Our bell logo is a tribute to Da Vinci's sketch of the "fifth effect" (seen above).
"Percussion in equal time exceeds any other natural power." — Leonardo Da Vinci (Codex Atlanticus 11vb)
